A traditional estate on the Greek island of Ithaca
Cave of the Nymphs is a private estate with olive trees, orchards, vegetable gardens and vineyard, occupying an area of approximately 11,000 sq m. Due to its location, the Estate not only has expansive mountain and sea views, but also offers visitors privacy, peace and quiet.
When the Estate was bought by our family, in 2000, it looked like a real jungle: full of prickly bushes, with some scattered olive trees and two or three fruit-bearing trees, of which one could discern only their tops. After rooting up all these shrubs and pruning the existing trees, we planted a lot of fruit-bearing trees, such as fig-trees, pear-trees, apricot-trees, pomegranates, plum-trees, lemon-trees, as well as a great selection of local vines and various vegetables.
With a lot of hard work, patience and devotion, that jungle has been transformed into a paradise on earth, where guests can relax in the natural shade of trees, enjoy the panoramic views and eat fruits straight from the tree or pick fresh vegetables and wild herbs to prepare their meals.
